Q about Cat5 DSL run and interference from audio wiring

This weekend, I'm going install a splitter at my telco NID and run a dedicated Cat5 line to my DSL modem, about a 35 foot run.

The easiest routing for the Cat5 would be to have it running for about 25 feed right next to (i.e., in contact with) a Cat5 cable that is carrying multichannel sound out from my PC's Audigy sound card to my AV receiver (for those who care, L&R front on 3 wires, L&R rear on 3 wires and center on the remaining 2).

Is there any danger that the audio run will cause interference/noise/etc. on the DSL line?

Thanks,

Nolo

I wouldn't expect any interference. Cat5 wires are shielded to provide some protection from exterior noise. Running it next to a microwave might be a bad idea, but running it next to another cat5 cable containing speaker signals shouldn't hurt anything.
