How to change firewall settings?

Sorry to post two questions in one day but I'm really confused here. I just upgraded my DI-624 rev C to the latest UK firmware (2.75) and all of my settings were erased as expected. However, there is still a firewall setting in there that wasn't erased which I'm now unable to change. There is no edit icon next to each firewall rule and all of the check marks are greyed out.

Am I doing something wrong here? I've downloaded the manual but it doesn't seem to mention this particular problem.

Thanks.

These settings are stored in your Internet Gateway and can be editted there.

Go to Control Panel, click Network Connections, under Internet Gateway you will see your Internet Connection. Right mouse button Internet Connection, select Properties, then click Settings. Mine takes about a 30 seconds to open. Once open, you can Add, Edit or Remove the services rules (that you can't get at through the router interface).

Are you sure that's how you change the router's firewall settings? That seems to be how you change settings for Windows Firewall, which I don't have on.

In my router's firewall settings, there is a port that is open for a bittorent program. I'd now like to change the port number on that but it's greyed out. I followed your direction but there is nothing there about port numbers.

I appreciate the response though!

You can change firewall settings in the normal way by setting rules on the firewall option, however, the Router automatically configures itself for such things as MSN Messenger if you have UPnP enabled. The rules that it creates are greyed out (as you indicate), and the only way to change these that I am aware of is in the way I indicated. The source of my information was D-Link's website because I tried to solve a similar problem about a month ago and went looking for a solution.

I think I see what you mean but the rule that was put in was put in manually and not automatically. And I'm not looking to delete the rule, just change the port number.

FYI, my configuration also looks a bit different. In my Network Connections, I don't see Internet Gateway. I do see my wireless connection though and right clicked on that to get Properties, etc. I then went to Advanced tab and clicked Settings on the Windows Firewall tab. Is that the same thing?

Thanks.

Strike what I said as I think you solved it for me. I hit a tab in that section that said "restore defaults" and the rule is now gone in my router firewall section. I'll just now add it again with the new port number.

Thanks and sorry I doubted your advice!
