anyone with a radio scanner can listen to you if you use an Analog phone.....

Its really funny because a lot of people use analog phone because they think the government is less likely to listen in to them. They are just making it easier though.

BBR article is inaccurate...

In the BBR writeup of the article it sounds like the $5 fee is for analogue (AMPS) users. This is incorrect. The fee is for users with OLDER DIGITAL PHONES on the old TDMA network. TDMA is digital.
