Are we mad yet??

I get so frustrated by the "screw the public who pays...just let me give their money to my friends" attitude!
How do we sign up for a class action lawsuit to claim our money is being used in a fraud???

The USF is nothing but another wasteful government welfare program that is rife with corruption. Those abusing it should be investigated and prosecuted, including Powell. But in any case, the USF should be terminated. That would give every household in the US a lower telephone bill each month.

I don't agree that it should be terminated, but rather, actually run correctly. It's a "Good Thing™" that just happens to be overrun with corruption--wipe that corruption clean, and you have something beneficial.

Get the jackasses that are abusing it.

Yeah, but that same thing could be applied to just about every major Government Department or program, including the Military, Social Services, Department of Housing and Urban Development, USDA, etc etc

I think everything starts out as a "good idea" and then gets corrupted and becomes extremely wasteful. I guess I really shouldn't limit it to Government, either. Lot of big business is the same way.

Re: Are we mad yet??

Yes. But, you don't kill a program due to corruption. You remove the corruption from the program.

It's a tall order, but nobody ever said reigning it in was easy. However, it does need to be done, or else it'll just fester and shift around to new "good thing" projects that don't deserve the abuse.

In some cases - you DO scrap it- And this is one case where it needs to happen.

Your absolutely correct in your assessment. We need to terminate this illegal tax and any other illegal tax and stop federal welfare. These programs are just enabling programs, creating more beneficiaries looking for a federal handout. We've managed to create a whole segment of society that does not know how to be productive their only claim is to file claims seeking additional monies from those who do work hard. Stop the fraud, waste and abuse end these taxes and the programs they are suppose to support.

Re: Are we mad yet??

What does this have to do with welfare, unless you mean the welfare for the rich programs? The "whole segment of society" who profit from this kind corruption are the rich and the well-connected, not the working poor and those unable to work.

I must be running a fever...I agree with you on this one.

Or it could just be a sign of the last days...
