I just trialed the Sprint Novatel EVDO PC card and when you insert it in XP it reports as a "USB Controller" first, then as a "Serial Communications Device" so the fact they have an external version is not all that surprising. |

Not all USB devices are modems.
I was pointing out that the PC Cards are already using an internal USB interface, so having an external USB interface is not a big reach. |

| Actually all serial devices communicate. They don't have to be modems. You are correct that all USB devices are modems, but all serial devices do communicate. It is a communications bus. Sorry, just the network admin in me came out, since I do this for a living. Not trying to dog you, just wanted to make sure no one got confused reading your post. |
