looks like they might be getting ready for VOD encryption as the previous firmware version for the DCH boxes does not support VOD encrytion |

That was my initial observation, i started to notice the noises while recording two channels and watch recorded show at the same time. Yes, it's definitely cool to touch, and absence of hot air too. |

3 edits | Anyone seen the monthly channel change update? I noticed about a week ago, the one that was posted for September changed. It changed to Sep 2nd (the previous one said Sep 1st), and said just this:

There has not been one posted for October yet. Anyone seen it in the DMN?
Edit: Just looked. The DMN website lists a TWC ad from Oct 5th, which has the same thing.

Looks like my 3400 loaded up the full guide, the machine becomes sluggish like usual, not responding to remote and the rest of the boo boo you're probably known already. This guide app is a total disgrace to DVR technology, retarded in some way...Tivo should sue them for degrading the fine art of DVR. |

Has anyone else noticed a recent degradation of picture quality on ESPN HD in Frisco. Is a new compression scheme being used? ESPN2 is fine. ESPN is horrible now. |
