jbob:

Thanks. As with several of the previous rounds of tests ( see »Anti-Spyware Cleanup Comparison Report....8th round
) I'm a bit puzzled at this group's selection of threats for the testbed, which is once again dominated by what many vendors would regard as "low risk" applications, many of which might actually be excluded from detection by a number of the vendors whose apps were tested.

I'm hoping that the next few rounds will tests against some of the nastier threats that users are actually encountering in the wild -- threats like Vxgame, Haxdoor, Smitfraud, Quicklinks/Forethought, Internet Optimizer, DollarRevenue, Look2Me, and so forth -- all threats that are rampant on the Net today.

Best,

Aluria antispyware???

It shouldn't be on that list.

IMO, that test is flawed.

The only recent malware to my ltd knowledge on that list is WinHound.Which is a rogues ASW appointment pushed by a Z-lob variant back awhile.

The rest i have not encountered in 8 mths of bug hunting/testing.

Amen Eric testing against new nasty entrenched infections and not borderline adware is a far better test of software and its capability

For real life scenario testing what are the chances of thoes 10 appearing on someones pc unsolicited at the same time. How many would be romovable through the add/remove software tab

Just my *amateur testing 2cents
