| I think the reasoning is that you loose analog channels and cheaper analog services/channels. Our cable company, for example, just told everyone that they have to pay for digital to get any premium channels like HBO and Showtime. While it makes sense from a technical standpoint, for people who want HBO without the massive digital charges (convertors, etc.), they are left in the cold. -- "Extremes to the right and left of any political dispute are always wrong." | That kinda depends on where you are and what kinda of setup/service you got. I'm with Time Warner and when I did the initial swap from analog to digital (because I was losing what used to be HBO2 & the west coast broadcasts), I actually saved $5 a month because I didn't have to pay to break the premium channels to both of my boxes....Rental charge for the boxes themselves was the same.
Since then I have added alot to it because I have more available, but the initial swap was cheaper..... |
