| Total website Management Systems Our work is looking for a new web site management system provider. Basically it's a web site with a ton of public information on it (local government). We need a system that allows users to post news items, announcements, calendar items (multiple calendars) and the such for an internal and external web site. Both sites total probably have 100,000 pages.
I feel our current provider is gouging us. We were just charged $25k to change the look of our website (template change) and a few other minor accessibility changes. Initial web site design was in excess of $500,000. I don't know our month-to-month charges, but I imagine that they're pretty high as well. And their system only allows 1 website per server so we're stuck running multiple servers. Their business model seems to be to work with the customer (as little as possible) and then take their ideas, make them work, and turn around and sell them to other clients.
What are some other good companies out there and what are their price ranges?
Thanks. -- [[Your signature here]] | |

| Re: Total website Management Systems I can't tell you about particular companies, but most all of my CMS needs have been filled at »www.opensourcecms.com
Of course, I don't do enterprise-level work usually...but IMO, what you have sounds very easy to do with free CMS's and some time.
They have forums there as well for questions. The demos are great to test how things work before you go and setup.
