| Re: How to Build a low cost cpe with build in amp This HP model is on sale for $50 at provantage right now. A 14 Db rootenna with RP-SMA antenna can be had for $42.20 at fab-corp or $37 at pasadeena in 20 Qty. I have used the little brother to this radio very extensively with raging success. DD-WRT allows ACK timing and very flexible RF output control. The regular model (whr-g54s) is under $39 at provantage and runs 125 Mw in hot attics and 36 Mb connect speeds with no noticable degradation of bandwidth delivery. I have run 13 units in attics (135 degrees plus) and a total of about 70 units for the last 5 months. Not a single lemon or failure at all. These Buffalo radios are very well made. I ordered 3 of these HP models yesterday just to play with and compare. I'm very curious to see how much better they are than the regular model. This will put you well under your target price of $100. With DD-WRT, all modes are supported including WDS, router, AP and true client bridge mode. -- Mi ultima pinche Carta Blanca. Que triste ! | |

| Re: How to Build a low cost cpe with build in amp cool nice to hear that other wisp operator using this unit I hope I am doing right decision about this unit.... My AP are about 2000 Feet way NLOS this is the big challenge for me to get my client connected ... due to regulation I cant put anything higher then 10 feet from the roof... so thats leave me hanging with NLOS | |

What is the obstruction that you have ? Have you done a field test to see if you can get a signal through ? -- Mi ultima pinche Carta Blanca. Que triste !

Like there is No way I can get LOS Ap---> client ... due to regulation I can not put anything taller then 35 feet so most of the 2 family house are 30 feet and trees about 40 feet

| Re: How to Build a low cost cpe with build in amp The only way to know if the link will work is to try test the whole distance. Normally you can eat through 1 or 2 trees with a warmed up station, but it all comes down to erp and blockage. 2000 feet of houses and trees does not sound very good at all. -- Mi ultima pinche Carta Blanca. | Re: How to Build a low cost cpe with build in amp Those sound like some pretty good results. I do not have that kind of luck with trees and houses, but I am not a WISP operator either. I am just a computer technician. Maybe that is why. -- Mi ultima pinche Carta Blanca. Que triste ! | |
