Actually I care. This pre draft stuff violates FCC rules about interference. My neighbor installed pren gear and now I had to boost my signals to keep his stuff from drowing out my wifi.
I literally could not get more than 1 wall away from the AP without issues. -- FIOS chat »www.fioschat.com MacChatter »www.macchatter.com |

If the equipment really did violate FCC rules, it would be illegal to import or sell in this country.
Bottom lines is that all the current 802.11 equipment works on an unlicensed basis in the radio spectrum. From a regulatory point of view, you have no guarantees any of it will work without interference, and if you do experience interference, you have no recourse. If you want freedom from interference, you need to get a license in an appropriate slice of spectrum, or you need to run a wire. |

So, it abides by the FCC rules. Secondly, interference on the shared/unlicensed spectrum is expected and FCC is not going to do anything unless the equipment does cause interference in a licensed band. |
