 [FL] Mediacom's DVR Box

If I purchase a USB to USB cable and hook up to my computer, can I download my shows onto my PC from the box ? and then record to DVD.

I don't wish to lose some old old specials on my DVR box but I need to clear up the storage space percentage.

Thank you.

OR - if you have a suggestion how to put them on VHS, that's fine too

The USB is disabled but I believe the 1394 is active. So you can in theory use the firewire to transfer the data. I do think there are a few steps involved though. Haven't tried it yet.

I've been told by other tech's in other communities that they have people that have done that as well. I have not had the chance to try it myself.
