firefox/fragmented

Why does firefox (or as my wife would say fox fire) always get fragmented. Using diskeeper 10

Let me clarify, One HD I have is 300gigs used for images, so not a lot of writing is being done on this drive. This is the drive where I have Firefox profile pointed to. Currently my HD is about 50% free with 0% fragmentation. When I run Firefox, close out of Firefox, check said HD, I am fragmented to a warning (using Diskeeper)

AFAIK Diskeeper calculates fragmentation based on how many files are on the drive vs fragmented files. Your profile is constantly gonna be written to. Settings change cookies, temp files ... etc. If you relocate your profile to another drive I'm sure you'll stop seeing the warnings from Diskeeper.

My 2 cents.

Hehehe, my Mom calls it that all the time too. Sorry no help here, but I had to comment on that.

I don't see this issue with Perfect Disk. Lanik's suggestion seems reasonable though.

Incidentally, my brother refers to anything relating to Firefox as simply "Mozzarella"

Diskeeper likes to threaten users with its fragmentation statistics... sometimes I really think they are the sole reason for 95% of the cases of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

But seriously, it's because every time you go to a webpage or change a setting, a new file gets written to your profile folder (web cache), and old files get purged out. It's constantly in motion, and as a result fragmentation will naturally build.
