| [General] Call Hunting To Second Line
The term "hunting" refers to the ability for incoming calls to switch over to a 2nd line if the 1st line (the number dialed by the incoming caller) is busy. Many consumers with two lines had this feature before call waiting was invented and many businesses still use this feature today.
So basically all I want is that if the number called is busy, rather then use call waiting, I want it to ring on a 2nd line.
Does anyone know if this feature can be implemented using 2 voip lines or a voip and a landline and if so, with what voip providers?
I currently use SR and I don't even think there is an ability to disable call waiting. |

| Vonage supports hunt groups (call hunting) with as many lines as you want. They have to be vonage lines on the same account... You can even configure to hunt from line 1 to line 2 and still use line 1's voicemail box if you don't pick up a call that rolled over to line 2 (instead of line 2's).... I was one of the original test users and after a couple of wrinkles in 2003 it is working fine ever since....
I would not consider a non-hunting provider as I find call waiting a non alternative (and a terrible intrusion on any ongoing call).
Disclaimer: I'm just a customer - and I am also pretty certain other providers offer hunting... -- I am addicted to speed --- OOL speed that is --- |

So to answer your question, go to web sites of prospective vendors and study the "features" they offer. Check out their FAQ's on those pages to be sure you clearly understand how each service works. I can speak from experience on Vonage, Viatalk and Voicepulse. Here are some links below:

Voicepulse: »www.voicepulse.com/features/adva···dMe.aspx
