Just to make sure, you followed this, right? »Verizon Online DSL FAQ »How do I use a router with the Westell 6100?. There is another link at the end of that dealing with the MAC cloning. |

| Yep, followed it step by step, and then started over and did it with the tech on the phone (including mac cloning). Between the line tests and the delays the call took forever, even though I work fast. It was frustrating as all heck.
Not sure where to go from here. The big difference is that this modem is using DHCP and not PPPOE, so I worry about turning off the modem's DHCP ability. |

| When you turn off the modems DHCP, it is for the internal private network. You want to turn it off so that the Linksys can handle internal DHCP. That has nothing to do with the Verizon side DHCP. In a nutshell, Verizon uses DHCP to assign your modem an Ip on their network, and in turn your modem uses it's DHCP to assign the individual pc's on your network Ip's. If you don't turn it off you will have both the modem and the router trying to give out ip's to the pc's (and each other) on your home network, which could confuse the hell out of everthing. |
