For anyone interested in specific discussion related to the following you might want to refer to the thread I have linked to below.

1)Actual news about upgrades that have or are taking place in your area

2)Factual news (or VERY reliable rumours) that you'd care to share with others about the time line for upgrades to occur.

adelphia tech that was at my neighbors house advised me that it will take about 6 months for total transition. told me that comcast already owns adelphia, now it's just a matter of new shirts, a name on the trucks, and changing the name on the bills. he said pricing should stay relatively the same for now, but may change over time..

I am confused....

Should not the post above mine be moved to the other thread. It contains a reliable rumour.

I live in Vermont.

Underground Cabling was completed along our road and then up to the external"box" about 2 months ago (a distance of about 5 acres).

In the meantime, Adelphia has offered many incentives to switch from DirectTV and GMA DSL. The savings are incredible, and they will complete the installation of the cable from the "box" to my home, as well as inside the home at No charge.

However, they really play down the Comcast aspect. From what they say, the transition to Comcast here in Vermont will be quite a few months.

It's not about a specific upgrade or service change...ie: someone just got upgraded to 6MB Comcast speeds, now has additional comcast TV channels...price changes..website changes etc. Having that kind of thread will hopefully let someone see at a glance what's actually happening in any given area.

Obviously, it will take a while to get that thread rolling but it's there for when things do start happening.

And meanwhile, we get to all chit chat more in general terms with you Hob. Isn't that nice?

It just occurred to me that I never received a mailed bill from anyone this month.

I paid my bill online but did so in the past as well and always still recieved a paper bill in the mail.

Anyone else notice this?

Mine always came with the tele~media name on it I think.

If it's just me that's had this problem I wouldn't be too surprised seeing everyone around here constantly plays musical mail with one another, with my neighbors and I constantly having to redeliver each others mail to one another.

I think it's time for a complaint to the postmaster.

I receive my bill via email, pay it via my on-line bank & usually do not get a mailed invoice. Occasionally I'll get a mailed one along with receiving the normal emailed one. No idea why I get the mailed one.

Well, along with a flashy new home page, Comcast seems to be fiddling with the service locator once again. I put in my address and zip and got-

"SORRY

We appreciate your interest in setting up Comcast Cable services. It appears that you are in an area which is currently serviced by another cable company.

Our records indicate that your new broadband service provider is:
Adelphia"

This is what it did the earlier this month (as I'm sure you all experienced). It's a trick, Comcast is actually going to Adelphia, hehehe

Johkal, we get our Adelphia invoice online, and do the online bill pay too. Oh, click on the Adelphia SoCal link at »www.adelphia.com, it takes you to the bill pay page lol

lol..Their new website seems to have some issues, at least with my system.

When I go to the website and it starts playing that fife and drum music..It WON'T STOP..Even when I surf away from the site!

It just plays on and on..and...........on.

lol..the only way I finally got it to stop was to close all my browser windows.

Before closing the windows, I was going back to the site trying to find an off button and then it kept giving me these wierd pages full of code.

Suffice to say, their new website needs some work.

Also, inputting my address..they also come back and tell me my provider isn't them..but adelphia as well.

Anyways..thank god my connection is still working as it should as well as tv service.

I think this question belongs here...

Anyone know who gets Staunton/Charlottesville, VA? (TW or Comcast)

And when a potential migration could occur?

Thanks

How about MD? I was expecting to get Comcast since they have most of the state. But when I signed up for web space I got contacted by TW support. So now I'm not sure. All I do see is Comcast commercials on Adelphia at this time.

Comcast has Technician I openings listed for Vermont in a Monster.com email I received today.

Not that this itself is exciting. But it is the first indication seen in Vermont that Adelphia was sold. I was starting to think all you folks made this stuff up just to fool us.

Well, that is a start. Adelphia has said to me in person that the sale won't affect them for months. All promotions, installs, etc are still under the Adelphia umbrella and Comcast is barely mentioned.

I just spoke with the New England regional VP of Marketing at Comcast. They now plan on having us in Connecticut completely re branded as Comcast by November. She tells me that instead of getting new things here or there, as far as TV programming at least, we will have one huge channel realignment, and have all our new channels added then, making us look more like our surrounding Comcast systems quickly, rather than slow methodical change. This could happen anytime between re branding and Q1 of next year.
