Kaspersky AntiVirus is very unhappy with the latest file:
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 The requested URL »/r0/download/1···in32.zip is infected with Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.aux virus
Anyone else getting warnings? |

Interesting.. I will scan here and see what comes up.. Hopefully nothing, but will do that just to make sure as well.
EDIT: I just completed the full virus-scan and it did not show anything.. I am hoping that your software shows it as false-positive.. Anyone else see this problem with cyt? |

1 edit | reply to rcilink I have no idea why the cyt33 was triggering your AV.. According to google, that trojan is brand new. Since I have used the program here, I did a thorough scan and did not find anything to report.
Anyhow, here is a cleaned-up version that (maybe) includes d-link VTA-VR support.. someone should test it and verify that for us.
Also, this version has a preview of an upcoming menu... It will (soon) let you make changes to the XML using cyt. There are many settings that are not shown on the web interfaces of these devices. What better way to access those settings? (it gives you a sneak-peak for now, does not let you make changes at this time)
EDIT: The cyt_3.4 version has been removed-- it has a port error, preventing it from doing anything. It has been corrected, and re-packaged as cyt_3.5. If you downloaded the 3.4 release, please re-download this link (updated to 3.5). |

| reply to rcilink I just tried it on the Dlink and it gets "failed to connect to device." Should I have provisioned it first? I did unlock it but reset to defaults to try out the cyt_34 version. I think it's getting closer to working. Let me know if I can test it more.

I don't know either, but cyt34 came down without KAV squealing like a pig (literally). It must be a false positive with this new trojan. Fortunately, KAV definitions are updated every four hours, so it'll probably get straightened out fast.
Thanks a bunch! |

Tried CYT 3.4 with D-Link VTA-UV. Detects, gets dots while trying to connect then fails.
Done it with box non-provisioned and provisioned.
Looking good mind! |

| reply to rcilink Note the updated version of cyt (now 3.5) above..
A port setting was incorrect in 3.4, making it never see the device. oops.
This is fixed in version 3.5
So, if someone cant test the DLINK option, that would be great.

| reply to rcilink FWIW I tried version 33 on my vonage pap2 2.0 and it did not work. It gave me a successful message and thought it worked, but after some time and power cycling still no actual results. I switched back to 30 and was able to unlock however so perhaps something changed? |

| It is sounding like you are talking about the original Linksys PAP2 device. Sorry to say, the original PAP2 does not work with the CYT program.
Probably about one month ago, Linksys PAP2 v2.0 started to show-up on the shelves at stores around the country. Even though it is labeled "Linksys PAP2 v2", it is really a completely different beast inside. That is why the v2 version works with the CYT program.
The v2 version of the PAP2 does indeed have a reset button. Holding it in for the 30sec to 1 minute timeframe will actually factory default the device.
One option you have, if your purchase was recent, would be to return it and look for the "v2" version of the PAP2. The PAP2 box has a silver stripe on the top-front for v2. (The original has orange stripe)..
New packaging looks like this:
and... Old packaging looks like this: |

Got someone looking at getting Linksys PAP2 v2 firmware on the D-Link to get all the nice menu options back that you need for easy config.
Will let you know what he finds. |

| reply to SteveLV702 said by SteveLV702 :kind of hard to do when there is no factory reset button and when you try to do it via the IVR it asks for the admin password which I do not know... A PAP2v2 has a built-in reset PIN hole to do a factory reset. If yours don't have a reset PIN hole on the side panel and above Phone1 port, then it is either an ordinary PAP2 or a PAP2T (if this one also has no reset PIN hole, too). -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

Please confirm the MAC address of on the BOXes with the ones on the back panels of your PAP2v2 units. They should match. Then, there should be a reset PIN hole on the left side panel above Phone1 port. You may need a magnifying glasses to see. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |
