I would suggest to have a serial cable ready in case the modded firmware causes your PAP2v2 to brick! -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

| reply to rcilink fine can you look at the picture below and point out where this hidden reset button should be.. So maybe open up in "paint" and draw a arrow pointing to where the reset button should be |

1 edit | If your PAP2 v2 was of the latest flavor (TI chip inside), it would have a reset button, as shown.
My guess would be that those are Linksys PAP2 units, based on the Sipura model. That is similar (if not the same) to the original Linksys PAP2 unit.
Out of curiousity, can you dial into the IVR (***) and then check what firmware it is using? |

| said by SteveLV702 :well my ivr says 3.1.8 I don't have a web gui so can't verify that way. Unlike a PAP2, a PAP2v2 MAC address starts out with 0018. I know you already mentioned your PAP2v2 has a V2 on it somewhere, can you look very carefully again to see if there is a written PAP2V2 on the back of your device? Also, if you look from the front side, where can the Cisco logo be found? BTW, on your post where you mentioned it's a PAP2-NA version 2 it has no reset button/hole anywhere on the outside of the device or on the inside of the device. Which device did you refer to as a PAP2-NA v2? -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

I thought you want to find out if you had a PAP2v2, didn't you? If so, your last chance is to open up the box, look inside, take some snapshots of inside view (this time please post some nice pictures!), and tell us what you see. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

| reply to jwx213 The serial interface needs a 3.3v converter chip (something like a MAX232) to be able to hook it to a PC.
On similar TI-chip'd products, I must say, it works nicely
Beware, the firmware for these devices (and similar-branded versions) all require a login password on the serial console..
But, there is LOTS of great information on the console if you are debugging or testing something.
One last thing.. make sure to change CONSOLE_STATE to 'unlocked' in /proc/ticfg/env
This will let you get into the PSP bootloader, and do an emergency firmware upload without letting the router boot (in case you brick the firmware).. |

| I think this will be the ideal way for us to get the settings easily changeable through the web interface.
I have forwarded all your comments onto him from the above post. Thanx
Have you tried crossing the Firwares over on the D-Link and Linksys? |

| reply to mazilo no mazilo I said I have a PAP2-NA V2 I am just trying to get it unlocked. By default its unlocked by IonoSphere.net put in an admin password and disabled the webgui so now its locked. And since I dont see any reset button I can't even reset it..
I'll take some pictures of the inside but nice pictures I doubt that since my digital camera battery is totally shot to hell. So as of right now I can only take pictures with my cell phone. |

| reply to rcilink well this tool doesn't work for the Motorola VT 2442 either as I logged into the webgui via »192.168.15.1 Username: router Password: router and then ran the CYT Program and pressed 3 and entered the IP 192.168.15.1 and then did 1 and comes back saying something about some Security Access Violation that I need to login via my web browser which I already did. |
