Wrong Idea

The price for DSL have decreased over the last 2 years, while the speeds increased. Why would you lock at 1.5??
The plans featuring 1.5 2 yrs ago where at 39 with intro rates of 34 or 29. Today the rate is around 29 with intro rates lower than that... Even if the price remain the same the speeds will likely increase. These is a win-lose plan..

My initial post was a joke But I totally agree with you. These sorts of contracts are a bad idea for consumers.

An important factor is that due to DSL technology, some people can only get 1.5 at the most due to DSL line limits. That is something that isn't likely to change anytime soon until Qwest deploys newer DSL technology.

Also, there are quite a bit of people that are happy just to get something better than dial-up speeds.
