Re: [General] DLink VTA-VR

Yes I noticed that too. The worst thing is it will factory reset itself if it can't register to any VoSP, which means it will lock it itself if it can't register. IT'S TOO BAD.

Anyone else realized that?

BTW, has anyone noticed a VTA-VR will keep rebooting if none of the Line is registered to any VoSP?

For me the question begs - can the firmware be swapped?
I won't recommend to do that unless you want to risk bricking your VTA-VR. Just for the sake of safety, do a check on the outputs of cat /proc/mtd and cat /proc/tic/env on each device to see if they are identical. If they are, then we need to find out if the program runs on one device can also run smoothly on the other (I tested a simple program ported to a PAP2v2 also runs on a VTA-VR without a problem). Otherwise, you will be risking your VTA-VR to get stuck in process of booting.

BTW, has anyone noticed a VTA-VR will keep rebooting if none of the Line is registered to any VoSP?

as expected the major components are exactly the same as the PAP2 v2.0.

I thought I'd open the unit up and take a picture of the internals, as expected the major components are exactly the same as the PAP2 v2.0.
