I know im an antiquated ol'fart 
I was just wondering of there is an effective rootkit detection program for WIN98SE?

If you mean an actual dedicated stand alone RootKit detector, then i'm not aware of one. There are Anti Malware Apps that include RK detection in their defs etc though. AT + AV are doing this, and some AS too, some more successfully than others it has to be said.
It's mainly XP etc that are more susceptable to RK's than 98 etc !
There are quite a few Hidden Finder Apps that are able to search for Stealthy files etc in 98 etc, which you may have some joy with. If you'ld like more info about them etc, just holla !
