Do you have cool&quiet enabled? If yes then your system is under clocked to save power.

join:2003-12-11		 Your system should automatically return to it's nominal speed when it's under load. Try running prime95 and have your program check your clock speed during prime.

yup..it went up to 2200. Thanx guys..had no idea.
