 Battlefield 2 Slow login problem

I don't why it does this. but it takes about 20 to 30 minutes just to login after I've entered my username and password. I just reformatted my computer and it still does this. Is this a server problem or something?

My computer is fairly decent.

Specs:
Pentium 4 2.0A ghz
512mb rdram (soon to be 1gb)
80GB 7200RPM Western Digital Hard Drive
Geforce 7800gs AGP (motherboard only supports AGP x4)
Soundblaster Live 5.1 Digital
Cable Internet (4000down/512up)
Windows Home XP SP2

This is an old gateway 700x that I've had since year 2002 and there's nothing wrong with my internet connection. Also it sometimes freezes up my computer and i have to shut it down manualy.

ram, and possibly connection(not connection as in speed but how many people are using it at once, and maby upload)

only other things would be firewall or router

delete your cache, both video and gfx.

The slow login problem is because EA's account servers are complete garbage.
