EVDO will rack up the data usage MUCH faster. I download on average around 1mb just about all the time and occasionally around 1.5mb. The Speed is better then advertised, which is really rare for a service.

All you need is the application on your phone and the ability to connect it to your PC. Assuming you have EVDO, you are good to go.
