Ads in my i-guide

Comcast just put the ads into the i-guide in Savannah a few minutes ago . I can't really see the point , but strangely, I like how the guide looks with it . I guess I'm a bit wierd because of it. The ads add more color lol.(making the guide a little more appealing in my mind)
It actually makes the guide look more interactive lol.

I just looked at it again, and somewhat revert my statement . Maybe they would look better if they took up the whole bottom portion of the channel guide. lol

Also, I did some in-guide investigation, and they only appear in the traditional guide(listing by time). Not any other search methods.
Anybody know why they suddenly decided to reinstate these ads.

Yeah, you have a point there. My area can also relate, except for the NFL NetHD thing. Normally games are shown on INHD, but no full time channel. I think the games in HD are good enough for our HDTV owners with C-Cast.

I have mines on double height so mines still displays five cells.
Obviously I can't count , I had 4 cells. I'll keep it at double b/c the single height cells are too small for me. I wish they saved this for VRN guide or something

I had mine set to double height and it went to only showing 4 channels at a time now that there is a big old add at the bottom. I just switched it to single height and now I have 5 channels per page. But I still think it sucks.

I just noticed this today and, personally, I think it sucks. I don't pay too much money each month for them to display an ad everytime I look at the guide. The worst part is that it is highlighted each time you scroll manually through the listings.

They really are doing their best to piss me off....

I sent an email to Comcast expressing my EXTREME disappointment. I advise ALL of you to do the same. It's BS, we're already paying over a hundred dollars for service just to get subjected to advertising? That makes no sense.

This just plain sucks! It takes up a cell for a channel listing, and it actually highlights everytime you scroll through the guide. This has got to go. WTF would they put a add to watch discovery??? if i wanna watch discovery, ill scroll through the guide till i get there, then i can at least see what is on that channel. At least give us the option to disable this.

I don't understand why Comcast would suddenly do this.. this is HORRIBLE in regards to customer service. We PAY for this service.

Exactly. FOUR lines of programming is just unacceptable! And they better not give me crap saying to switch to single-height b/c I shouldn't have to.

Which adds do you guys have so far? i count 3 here in chicago.

why put those in there? if customers wanna watch those channels wouldnt they just go to that channel in the guide listing? I can only imagine that this is a precursor for other kinds of adds.

I'm getting those as well. I don't understand the "Search" ad.. it's pretty dumb.

Oh wait.. they just changed! Parental controls, Travel channel, and History channel.

That's one thing that I like about the SARA guide, no ads. Sure it might not be as aesthetically pleasing or intuitive as the i-guide software, but it does its job without the clutter. One thing that I do find strange is that it seems to have been implemented in a lot of areas at the same time.

Great. If we complain, something can be done about it.

Again, I advise EVERYONE here to complain somehow (phone, email, etc..). If we dont' complain, nothing's going to happen.

Same here in Southeast Michigan. Double height cells only show 4 lines. Boo Hiss. This really sucks. Just what I need, to spend more time flipping screens to scroll through the guide.

Any inside email or phone numbers we can use to get a more direct complaint?

Sent an email too. But do you really think it will do any good? all the time they spent giving us this comcastic feature (like reminding us about search and parental controls). One can only hope that they will listen to their customers.
