Re: Ads in my i-guide Channel? I don't think so, this is data on the cable box, not the tv guide channel. E-mail them back that on the guide the box provides, not the tv guide channel is where the ads are showing up.
This has not happened in my area yet.... in the past they had ads in my area, and they got a earfull from the customers, however it still took months to get rid of the damn ads.
Make sure you tell them that your looking at sat, and you know for a fact they don't show ads in what space you have for their interactive guide. -- My hourly rates: $25 per hour. $35 per hour if you want to watch. $45 per hour if you want to help. $75 per hour if you tried to fix it, and failed. You can change ideas, but its harder to change screwed up beliefs. We know that, but it has to download some kind of way, and be stored some kind of way, right???
TV Guide data is a constant stream from TV Guide Inc, the people who publish the magazine. They also have remote control of what shows up on the guide portion of the iGuide interface. If you look at the "about" section of your boxes menu, you will see they designed and managed the service. They DO have the ability to push ads in THEIR GUIDE, as the data is gathered from TV Guide, NOT Comcast. Comcast, in no way, is responsible. The reason you all noticed it at different times is because you cable box did not recieve a guide update until you started getting the ad. -- SIPPhone/Gizmo # 17476200648 / PIMPNET Chatline / Ran by Asterisk & Slackware 10.1. | |
