Yes, the client installs as a service so it should be there at the login screen. The way Logmein works is by maintaining a persistent connection to their server so when you connect remotely its seen as an outbound connection not an inbound which excludes then need for any port forwarding. |

| reply to Codermaximus said by Codermaximus :Well, I finally got to this situation and tried the F.A.Q. for this (as per the link posted) and it did not solve the connection problem. I am not sure what's going on. I have adjusted the Windows XP Firewall, the Modem's Firewall (turned it off) and redid all of the directions and still no go. I do not have any other third party firewalls installed. So, I'm at a standstill again. Do you all have any other ideas? TIA FYI, I had the exact same problem... I kept getting NAT errors when running certain programs.
I turned off windows firewall, turned off my router's firewall and put my computer in the DMZ just to make sure and I turned off the modem's firewall. I set everything as stated in the modem. Yet I still had NAT errors. I finally fixed the problem by switching the modem to BRIDGE mode.
I'd rather use the router as my DHCP server anyway... Now with all firewalls turned back on my NAT problem is gone. -- "The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato -

| reply to Maxo I just recently purchased Embarq DSL with their 660 modem. I've tried for 2 weeks to get a Belkin FSD 7230-4 router to work with it. I could access internet putting the ethernet cable in the modem, but NOT via wireless. Talked to Embarq and Belkin for hours - they pointed the finger at each other saying it was a bridge problem.
Finally went out and got a Linksys Wireless G. Had the wireless up with no problems in 5 minutes!! |
