| Firewall issues I have just moved into a dorm for college. i just redownloaded limewire and i can't seem to get a connection. I have internet, everything else works, just not the limewire. what can i do to get around this firewall. I'm afraid it might be the dorm firewall that is keeping me from getting a connection | |

| Some schools are really anal about that. Mine is extremely accomodating however. They dont block any ports, nor do they monitor your connection

clubs: | Try different ports, then try encryption. Haven't seen any anti filesharing things yet that encryption doesn't beat.

clubs: | Re: Firewall issues Just try random ports. If weird numbers don't work, then they might be using traffic shaping in which you will need to use encryption.
