| reply to the__wraith There is not one company that can quarantee the caller id name, and number, especially when it involves voip. There are 3 companies that are I think considered the major ones. They are Verisign, Targus, and Syniverse, if PSTN providers don't provide the dip on their end, then the incoming information on the end user side will not show up. This is even if the outgoing information is displaying as it should. As far as dialing the 1 you don't have to do that, but you do have to dial the area and number. Also the dialing has to be consistant with no delays. I can dial just fine without the 1 in front of the number. So if you are having problem with your name not displaying on outgoing calls contact Voicewing technical repair. |

| reply to the__wraith As a Verizon FiOS customer, I, too, am considering VoiceWing but recall reading the caller ID without name issue on this board from an older review. Yesterday I called customer support and asked them specifically if VoiceWing now includes name in the ID and the rep replied that they absolutely do.
This information, of course, contradicts what their own website lists under the "Caller ID" feature description for VoiceWing, which reads, "Caller ID lets you see number of an incoming call."

If no one can confirm or deny this feature, I may just break down and go with it under the protection of their 30-day money back guarantee (that will also give me an out if call quality or reliability of the service is sub-standard). |
