1 edit | [Info] Unable to flash D-Link router solution I was recently having a ton of problems with flashing the newest (3.52) firmware on my dlink 604 rev E router. Come to find out, I had flashed it with the VDI-604 firmware (Verizon FIOS special firmware).
Everytime I went to upgrade the firmware is would say sometime along the lines of wrong version number, incompatible, etc) My router said it was running 1.10DDM from Sept 05.
Anyhow, the solution is to "crash" your router. When you do this the router will boot into a firmware update only mode. From here I was able to install the latest firmware without a hitch. You have to hold down the reset button until the lights go out, 10-20 seconds. At the same time, you need to pull and plugin the power cord. It may take a few tries, but it works like a charm.
Can anyone else confirm this on the other models of Dlink routers? |
