Will the connection from the WAN port to the LAN port bypass the NAT and Firewall protection built into the WRT?
It would seem that plugging the modem into the LAN port puts the modem on the LAN. Yes, the modem and the LAN are on different sub-nets but the modem still on the LAN side of the router.
