It seems that way, but with DSL, you are using PPPoE which is a tunnelling protpcol similar to a VPN, so the connection between the LinkSYS WAN and the 6100 is exclusive to the two -- the LinkSys NAT and and firewalling is not bypassed.
One extra feature that this setup adds is that you can also use the XP PPPoE to establish an internet connection from a single PC -- so be careful that none of your LAN PCs automatically try to make this connection because wierd things happen if more than one box makes a PPPoE conection through the same modem. |
