1 edit | reply to ztmike Living Marine Aquarium? This is a free version of Living Marine Aquarium by Freeze.com. All you have to do is fill out a short survey and the download will begin. It runs very smooth on most newer systems, but may hesitate on older and slower systems. It is a beautiful screensaver with wonderful aquarium sound effects.

Re: [XP Home] Fish tank screensaver? The actual one from Windows XP Media Center, or XP Plus, is this one from e-goldfish.
A Google search pulls up a ton of them but as noted above, watch out for spyware if you're downloading demos.
There is a difference between the Windows one and the Sach's one ... as good as the Sach's one is, I think the Windows one is more realistic, if that's possible! |

JaM4150Premium join:2005-10-27 Matamoras, PA | reply to ztmike I think the fishtank screensaver that's included with Windows XP MCE 2005 is a lot more superior. I have the one that comes with MS Plus for WinXP. I've seen accounts on the Internet that the fishtank screensaver from MS WixXP MCE '05 can be ported over to other versions of WinXP. I believe it was something as simple as obtaining the *.scr file. Though I couldn't say personally it works. I haven't tried it as it might be against the EULA. I'm not sure. |

 | reply to ztmike Holy #%$@&*!!! I have to jump in here with my apologies to you all!
I AM SO SORRY for posting a link to a snake pit. I hope none of you were injured during the hours before pb5k, Buddel, and the Mod jumped in to save the day.
As often happens, I misunderstood the OP's statement thinking that meant he wanted something free. Back in early 2003, I downloaded a free DEMO version of AquaReal which was pretty sweet. I went to their website, jumped thru some easy hoops to the only free Aquarium download they offered. I ASSumed that was the "short" survey, and ASSumed the downloaded marinefree.exe was what I had been seeking.
It wasn't til after I returned to the Forum today that I went back and launched the sucker. Naturally, I immediately blocked the trojan-like call home, and continued to the part where setup required inserting personal information. Heeding the warning of our aforemention Heroes, I went to view the mind-numbing sign-over-your-Privacy Policy and came to my senses. This was NOT the screensaver program I had in mind.
Again, I apologize. I thank those who rightly spoke, and hope no others were hurt. I am in horror at my deed. No malice was intended. And I throw myself on the mercy of the court. |
