Hamilton, ON | [Info] VPN Clients So I was wondering why my VPN in windows was grey, then it dawned on me that it was prolly b/c I have xp home. a google search confirmed this. So since I dont feel like spending $50 and buying a copy of xp pro, are there any good VPN clients out there? (pref free)
any help would be sweet |

OpenVPN is free and works very well for a lot folks...

I was going to use it for Relakks, but since I dont have XP Pro, I cant use the windows integrated VPN.  |

Wait a minute... AFAIK XP Home can act as a PPTP VPN client...

Hmm, this is going to be a pain in the Butt.. I tried to delete those registry entries (only the 2nd one was present). It didn't do anything. (vpn is still grey)
I'm going to try and re-install SP1, but since my boot/logon screen is modified, I need to fix that. |

I cant get SP1 to install. It keeps giving me a Q327101 error. I tried to put everything back to normal in StylesXP, restarted and it's still giving the error.
I tried installing the Relakks software on my sisters PC (xp home) and it installed no problem, no ms VPN client needed..
gah, this is frustrating. |

I've tried many many VPN systems in the past and settled with www.hamachi.cc (Hamachi)
Its by far the easiest VPN system i used and it is free & multi platform useable ie windows, linux.
