| [modem/router] Westell 6100 I'm a novice at this so bear with me. I have just one pc connected to the Westell 6100 via ethernet then on to the internet. I've had a few people tell me that it would be better if I just had the Westell 6100 configured as a modem since I do not use a router. Is this true and if it is, how would I go about doing that. I have Verizon Online DSL (MD), Win XP (SP2), IE6. Right now, my firewall logs the source of all unsolicited inbound events as coming from the Westell 6100. I've been told that if the Westell is configured just as a modem my firewall would then be able to log the source of unsolicited incoming events properly. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Thanks |
