| [XP] Networking - Entire House
Hi,
My house is in the process of being built, and I'd like to take this opportunity to have the house wired or configured in such a way to allow me to connect to either cable internet or FIOS in many or all rooms.
Does anyone know of a guide for home wired and or wireless networking that I could use or if not, maybe a few suggestions for me?
Thanks, Scott |

though it's a bit hard to navigate.
In general, search for "structured wiring" and you'll find more than you want. This mostly pertains to wired; wireless is a bit easier in terms of technology, the only tricks are being able to place access point(s)/router(s) in the appropriate location(s) to give coverage to the house. The downside of wireless is the throughput limit is a lot lower than you can do over wired. |
