Thanx stan for showing me that graph.
Cox keeps saying the problem is with my modem or signal levels are too high or low.

I hope they get this cleared up soon.

Re: your hop 6 comment; not necessarily. It appears from your LQT to be simply ICMP de-prioritization.

See more explanation at »Re: [VA] Is it normal or .....?

(BTW, 68.2.13.2 is right there in Phoenix)

Re: your signal levels, what kind of modem do you have? Most allow you to access signal levels yourself w/ »192.168.100.1

For more info on signal levels see »Adelphia High Speed Internet »FAQ: Acceptable cable modem signal levels.

Thanks for that Link Nova Coxuser

I have a Webstar DPC2100

My recieve Power Level is -3.0 dBmV

Transmit Power Level 36.5 dBmV

is that good????

it does appear to be working,
this reading was taken while I was uploading and downloading torrent files, so i don't know if that would change anything.

Ive been reading other posts and it seems a low recieve power level is optimum.
what would be the most optimum levels?

I should also note, that I live with a roommate and we have our own seperate accounts off the same drop line.
we find we get better bandwith that way instead of sharing the same account thru a router.

when they installed my modem, the tech said the levels were too low and he installed an amp.
well when we started having these problems the tech that came out said the levels were too high and installed an attenuator.
in fact my roommate got 2 attenuators on there modem.
after the tech left, we found our connections going south.

So I took the attenuators off both of our modems and it seems to be working.
Overall we have one drop line to the house going to a coax splitter, and one coax going to my roommates room and another to my room, no attenuators or amps and Im getting the above levels in my last post.

Im assuming those are good levels from what Ive been reading in other posts, can someone confirm that?

I do have to say COX has been one of the best cable HSI providers Ive had or seen.
So I guess I guess I can't complain.
