said by JaM4150 :Orange County is usually rolled into all of NJ. It'll probably be like when a new channel is added. The new channel or in this case service upgrade occurs on the last day. I live in Matamoras, PA which shares a system with Warwick, NY and Montague, NJ. I'm in Suffern in Rockland County (West of Westchester) and I'm serviced by the Mahwah NJ System (the other half of my town and the rest of Rockland is another CV system serviced I think from Westchester). I assume that I'll get my speed roll with NJ. |

| reply to sunny8294 I have Fios 30/5 and its killer, I would never go back to cablevision until their uptime improves. My friends Optonline died last night and is still down, no phone (voip), no internet .
The sad thing is.. there is no FIOS 30/5 package anymore.
Not sure how the FIOS 50 service compares to optonlines 30/5 pricing. |

My OOL hasn't gone out for more than a couple hours in years. in fact, I don't think it's ever been out more than 2 hours. See below Im gonna go out on a limb here and post the exact response I had received from Wilt on this several months back when I inquired...
Specifically:
Instrumentation and tool based; the QOS for the modems, Voice services, is derived from Docsis 1.1 and that's currently all the number you're seeing means. BOOST is a separate channel and does run at DOCSIS 2.0 and has a certain set of modems, like the Moto 5120, that are "cleared" for it--in other words, 2.0 capable. Some people are confusing BOOST and the new service level of OOL normal, so that's part of it. Some modems that we didn't "approve" for the 15meg service are actually capable of coming close, running high 13s or low 14s, but close isn't what we specified. If performance of 14meg is good enough and you're happy--the editorial voice here--with the modem then changing for 1 meg or so is up to the user, but as far as specs go, we spec'd modems that would pass 15/2. They would need some pretty significant capacity additions to support a 5mbit up pipe with no capping even with DOCSIS 2.0. -- Its not about what you do, Its about HOW you do it |

| reply to lowdownshame Free solution: lower the Verizon 50/5 to $44.95 and charge the $90 for 50/15 (max docsis upload 2.0 spec)!

But, this will bring retaliatory speed increases and lower prices from Verizon. |
