If more Americans were willing to take the time to learn what's truly happening around them rather than being spoon-fed half-truths and propaganda, we wouldn't be suffering under an administration that has just this week made a determined, public effort to strike the prohibition against "offenses to personal dignity" from our methods of treatment for prisoners. It is disgusting that this is actually being debated in the United States of America. Worse yet that the right-wing crowd doesn't see anything wrong with that. They accuse the left of "blaming America first" while the righties in power whittle away our Constitutional rights, without care. Does that make them feel safer? Are they safer today than last year, two years ago, or five? No. But our country edges closer to disgrace.

What we should be wondeing is if our leaders think it's OK to remove the rights of persons we have captured to dignity in treatment, how long will it be before they deside that they should do it to us......

As for Fox "News" ratings, they are no more impressive than the number of Roman citizens that would go to the Colloseum to watch Christians tortured. Ol' Rupert is laughing all the way to the bank, as his "news" network producers wait for the next dead blonde white girl and Old Glory waves in the lower corner of the TV screen. And the fools who buy their brand of propaganda think they're getting the straight scoop because Bill O'Reilly, whose father never loved him, can and does shout down his guests. Welcome to American entertainment, 2006.

you write......
"regardless if it was historically correct or not."a willingness to accept lies as an acceptable portrayal of historical times in our countries history is pathetic don't you think? even making a statement like that is frightening. you're saying as long as it suits my side of the argument it's fine because it is good entertainment and it's fun to see the other side trashed on tv.. how many people will watch something like that and believe it. you sir sum up what is wrong with this country. "your" side has this us against them mentality as if this were a football game. the blaming of one political party over the other is exactly the problem .... remember the constitution? "We the People?" "We"...... their lies hurt your side as much as the other. they can put out as much propaganda as they wish but not many people are buying it anymore. 37% approval rating. after all 9/11 happened on George Bush's watch, one month after he ignored a report from the CIA titled "Bin Laden determined to attack the USA" plus how they screwed up Katrina..... go ahead and flame me. I'm for America not one party and frankly I'm a bit tired of being lied to by the party that controls all 3 branches of government plus I'm tired of getting screwed.
