Has anyone lately experienced rogue site pop-ups when downloading a file from uploading.com...amaena.com. antiwinvirus.com, drivecleaner.com? My computer is clean before you query that: I run Ewido 4.0 and Avast 4.7 real time and did scan afterwards to double check. |

| If you are using a Mozilla-based browser such as Firefox, and have it set to "block unrequested popups", it will still allow popups when you click on a link or button - as you would probably do to download something. IE is similar I think. It's rude but it doesn't mean anything is wrong with your system.
If your concern is the nature of the sites that the popups are served from, or which they're advertising, again not to worry, they can't do any more or less harm than any other sites. Just be sure your browser is up to date, OS has all patches, configuration is secure, use a non-root account, etc.. |

1 edit | reply to greenhatch "Antiwinvirus dot com"; no known returns on a google. There is a "Winantivirus dot com". Is this what you refer to ? Which is on Spyware Warriors rogue list, and would be what you may refer to after doing a google for "amaena dot com"
The only popup in Opera, with "block unwanted popups" checked was for "Adbrite dot com"
