Gateway - 192.168.3.1 DNS - 64.65.196.6 for this particular wireless installation at my home. I never noticed before, that I can only get the captive portal page to come up if my laptop is set to obtain an IP address automatically. Maybe thats not a bug at all. I just never noticed that before. To address your question: You are right...when I go to hotspots, like at hotels, I only use obtain an IP address automatically. I just didn't realize that the captive portal wouldn't come up, if I had my laptop set to a static IP address. I thought something was wrong this morning, when the CP page wouldn't come up...lol.

Be sure the static you use is outside the DHCP range of the portal. Edit - I have had some instances in funny circumstances when the auth page would not come up, and I could get no access. If you take the browser manually to the auth page, it will allow you to sign in and will give you access. -- Mi ultima pinche Carta Blanca. Que triste !

I'll keep that in mind about the MAC on the portal exection list. I'm not sure what you mean to "take the browser manually to the auth page".
