| They're saying with the Cell, the yield rate is 10-20%. And thats on a good day.

And don't forget about that dog slow memory read issue.
The price of the PS3 is justified from the standpoint of the manufacturers. But it's not worth it to pay that amount because it performs so poorly. I hope Nintendo gets some good sales. I still get angry when I think about how the Dreamcast "failed". I don't want the same to happen to Nintendo. I'd laugh if it happened to Sony, though. |

on top of that IBM usually charges per chip not per wafer so they eat the cost of the non-working chips. |

| Yea, I read it and I saw it only needs 7 but IBM isn't going to be shooting for 7. I don't care if they make up for what they waste. It just means the price will be higher for us. The Cell is a joke. Developers are gonna have a hell of a time with it. They chose to program for the PSX over the Saturn because the Saturn was so complex. They're going to chose Xbox and Nintendo this time. |

IBM is the one that gets the raw end of the deal not sony as they are the ones that eat the cost of the non working chips on a wafer.
with nvidia on board developing dev tools it should make it much easier to develop for the ps3. |

The Wii is nothing more than a glorified XBOX or PS2 with a crappy controller. Why pay $250 for that and $50 for games when you can get an XBOX or PS2 for under $130 and get loads of games for under $20? |
