[Speed Problem] changed dsl providers bellsouth to earthlink

I first had bellsouth 6.0 dsl, but i didnt reach anywhere near that speed the most i got was 1.5Mbps down, and I always lost connection. I was wondering would Earthlink be better and would i get the speeds i am paying for i signed up for earthlinks 6 down account also.

Since changing providers uses the exact same copper line you currently have it is very rare that you will see any improvements. Sorry. Plus you are adding a middle man and then you end up with Earthlink blaming Bellsouth and Bellsouth blaming Earthlink with you getting nothing faster since the copper is Bellsouths.

Also Earthlink Sales (who are just commissioned sales agents and not part of the ISP are there to just sell no matter what) will tell you that you can get 6.0 when in fact there is no guarantee at all and you are actually bound by the web terms of "up to" 6.0 based on line conditions. You will have no recourse against sales since the contract is published openly for all to read.

I suggest getting on Bellsouth's ass since they own the copper and the DSL equipment also.
