I can't get to google but everything else works. I can ping google.com but the page never loads. I tried it on other computers and have the same problem. Very odd.

2 edits | I'm in Nashua, NH which isn't far from Lowell, MA and I also cannot reach google or the Mozilla Firefox home page. Everything else seems to be working. I also can ping google as well with no loss and very good ping times too. I also tried new DNS servers without change too.
Edit.....Youtube also isn't working at all so that is two sites not working youtube has full packet loss on the ping test. Also google has no packet loss and is around 23ms response time which is good.
Edit again....Youtube just started loading and working as I posted the first edit. | |

I'm in Boston, and there is no connectivity to Google. A quick call to a Comcast CSR indicates that they know there is something wrong 'and they are working on the issue'. | |

| I'm in Connecticut and Google seems to have ben up and down all morning (mostly down). Must be something big if Google's got problems, maybe a DNS issue.

Does anybody know if Comcast uses a transparent proxy for HTTP (port 80)? I too live in the Boston area and have been having connectivity problems to google since yesterday. I can ping/trace to google but browser hangs. If I attempt to telnet to google.com on port 80, the connection gets dropped. If I telnet to another site, say yahoo.com, on port 80 I see the expected HTML tags. I suspect comcast is using a transparent proxy and maybe they're having problems with their google cache. I can get too google without any problems from outside the Comcast cable network. | |

Problems here too, in Brookline. I can''t get to Google using google.com, but can reach it using the IP address 216.239.37.99. Youtube will load, but the videos won't. Also, I can't get to my e-mail provider -- fastmail.fm. I can get to the home page, and sometimes to my inbox, but I can't open e-mails, and can't sernd them (either through the web site or through SMTP using my mail client. | |

As of right now, my wife is at home on our Comcast connection in Beverly, MA, and she is unable to access any of Google's websites, including gmail, maps, calendar, and blogger.
I am at work in Peabody, MA on a Level3 connection, and I am not having any trouble.
