[FireFox] Video Problems on FOXNews Website

First, I've searched, read this thread »[FireFox] Why does firefox have so many problems with video? and fixed part of the problem.

To start with, I had NO problems watching video on Google, Youtube and ABC news. I had problems with CNN and FOX news but I changed an Adblock setting mentioned in the above thread and can now watch CNN. Only thing left is FOX News (I like to watch two sides of the story but let's NOT get into that)!

When I click on a video on FOXnews.com, a window opens and I select my speed in the "gold colored" part of that window (I have 5 Mbps download broadband) and then NOTHING happens ... it just sits there. It does not lock up my computer (XP-PRO) but I can't watch anything. Darn thing just sits there. Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks in advance.

If you are using Adblock, this is probably your problem. You need a whitelist. Explanation and fix here:

Hi rick752,

Wow, that was fast. Thanks and Bingo! Works like a champ now and doesn't even ask me for my connection speed but goes straight to the video. Thanks again.

Yeah ... I already know about that problem. Some have whitelisted it while I have resisted the urge to do so.

I may have to add a (*shudder*) 'whitelist' entry to my EasyList eventually for that problem.

You know, Rick, I had this very same issue with the Fox News site the other day. I wanted to watch the Bill Clinton/Chris Wallace set-to.
First it's choose a speed, then it's allow a cookie, then it's disable Adblock, at which time I said to myself, "you know, screw them. If they want to make it this tough on me just to watch a friggin' video, I have no use for their POS site."
Just my two cents on it.
But u-da-man, and whatever decision you make will be fine with me, Big Guy.

Do you guys think that I should should just add a whitelist or two for major problems like foxnews video right in the Easylist?

It they are major websites that do not cause that much harm, why not? Actually I was looking for the same video as ArgleBargle was. Sure Youtube and others had it but I wanted to see it from "the original source" plus I didn't want to sort through all the crap on Youtube to find it.

But if you do it, I guess the big question is where do you "draw the line" unless you put some kind of options in it where the individual user chooses.

Edit - I can't spell!
