BT 2700HGV manufactured by 2wire - change MTU

I am using a BT2700 in the UK with isp talktalk. Periodically talktalk play with their servers which result in the 2wire router not connecting with some secure websites.

I have been advise to alter the MTU setting. Is this possible or is it locked in the BT firmware

South Bend, IN		 Not sure if it is locked for the BT's. But the place to check is gateway.2wire.net/mdc, submit your password, under advanced, click the configure services link.

@89.241.x.x		 It appears to be locked? You can change the value in the advanced configure services page, but when you go to the broadband link summary the MTU value documented is still 1500.

Is this intentional (locked) or am using the wrong process?
