Re: Yawn

Earthlink isn't a bad ISP until it comes to their tech Support. I've never had a problem with billing. Except when I ordered their old 2-Wire routers back when they were free and 2Wire was just becoming known. They were sending me ones that I didn't order and ones that wouldn't work. every time i sent them back in I got billed for them and finally sent me to collections regarding it. I informed them as well they were sent in and what Elink did with them is beyond me and I called each credit reporting company and informed them of this. They took care of it before it even hit my credit report.

Ever since I won't use Earthlink. Although they did send me a letter back about the middle of Sept. saying that their cable Internet maybe available in my area now due to the Time Warner/Comcast/Adelphia changes. I laughed and threw it away.

They actually told me to call TW, who in turn directed me back to Earthlink. After telling the TW rep that was where I had just come from transferred me to RR.... Worst ISP I have had the displeasure of using. They screwed up my inro offer and refused to honor it (TW fixed it for me however), didn't fix their own technical issues and delivers the most span I have ever gotten. Lastly, 2 months after they offered me a 6 months at $29.95 retention rate they have yet to actually charge me that amount. I'm just annoyed I missed the $125 GC offer at Best Buy last week!

When they refer you back to your local office they have given me the actual number to Tier 2 support and count that as a "local office number".

I gave up and went to RoadRunner.

..."They have to put you on hold and then call RoadRunner"...

I have also heard the exact same thing.

3rd that!

Would be nice for Elink to expand their own network to areas instead of using someone elses. I found with Earthlink its actually better to have RoadRunner than them. They have to put you on hold and then call RoadRunner to see if they have any outages effecting them or send a tech out to you which could be a few days or at least a week in some areas.

Also would be nice for them to bring their tech support back to the US so you can actually understand them.

This is news how? The cable infrastructure was already there. Erie already had access to TWC's HSI before this. Earthlink is nothing more than AOL's current BYOA offerings. Just extra software and services piggybacking on TWC's network.

Next!
