2 Wire Gateway 1701hg DSL/router/firewall (firmware Software Version:3.17.5)
-If you had service prior to April 2001 and have wires ONLY for DSL (an unbundled loop, or UL) ?
I don't remember if i had service in april 2001 but I did have DSL for a long time.. i use hard line telephone wires to the 2wire gateway and it's same to 2wire gateway to 2 computers and one voip
I used the filters that came in the box to all my phone jacks
I upgrade my package 4 months ago to pro to elite.. I ran a speed test here in dslreports.com and only saw improvement to upload speeds.. According to (I upgraded to a faster speed plan but only my upload speed increased... (#9610))
Riss_Centaur pointed this out to me after I posted problems in game play i will link all post together to this post soon..

it won't hurt, but in the mean time I'll look for that windows mod, although I'm not sure if it applies to you or not. at least it will be posted

This really doesn't apply to you as you were already getting good the results you needed on pro, but for someone who isn't maybe it can help them.

I called sbc/Att and talked to 1st level and 2nd level support and they wouldnt really tell me much they didnt even support me on how far i am from CO SBC  Man this makes me want to change my service to Cable |

I would suggest posting a message in the SBC Direct Forum just make sure you have an accurate title so they can get right down to the task at hand. put in all the info you have accumualted, with possibly links at the end, just in case they want to see for themselves. the above forum is for techs of AT&T to communicate with customers in a secure manor. only you and the tech's can read what is said. no other average joe member can read what is in there(unless of course they have their own thread ). |

Yes, posting in that forum is about as private as anything around here can be. I'm not going to further justify your self-stated paranoia. Post in the AT&T Direct forum, and give them the information that they'll need to look at your account, and your speed issue should be addressed. |

I wasnt here to point my finger at anybody here you guys are my heros.. my anger is more directed to SBC I mean we the people of the united states have put our sweat and blood to have the glory of having the net running thru our computer for the comunications, games,downloads,websurfing, and etc and it's just odd that for a year and half i been paying for something that should of been done after the revision after a upgrade package..
The funny part is it just magically worked right after I made the first call to level 1 tech and asked him if he had a way to check my profile and he told me he could then tells me later that all he could do is file a trouble ticket.. I asked him if there is any way he could put me thru to level 2 support and see if i can get it resolved there. he said he could and i told him to create the trouble ticket and transfer me to level 2. The new guy i talked to on the phone didnt have anything new to say to me besides that a trouble ticket was out for the line and gave me a phone number to call them just in case i wasnt in.. then the next day I called the tech guy(3rd person) and he checked the 2 wire router settings from his end and while he did that I asked him if he wanted any information in the management site and at that point he sounded shocked then didnt sound to confident i asked him about errors in the detail logs and to be honest he wasnt to sure about majority of my questions he then asked me to try to take my dsl filter out and run the line direct to the wall jack then run the speed test as i did that my voip phone hung up on him and he didnt call me back.. but, keep this in mind after the first call my speeds were fixed

1 edit |  Well, I finally made the call.. And no i wasnt flamin them just b/c I workin in telecomunications and I know how it is...
And when i called I recived 10 dollars/month credit came out to total 40 dollars... and guys I know you can't see it but, I'm smileing real big today 40 dollar credit, 2mb gain where it should be...
And you guys.. are real good .. no for real your guys know your stuff and i say this site ownz me |
