DC power cable

I'm trying to find a place to buy maybe 20-50ft of 10awg two conductor (red/black ideally) cable for DC power connection. I thought it would be easy to get, but I haven't been able to find any.

I've been able to find speaker cable that would work, but is expensive since it is for audio.

Does anyone know where a good place to buy this would be? I can't find it at the usual places like Jameco, Digikey, etc... I doubt the local rat shack has it. I don't want a large spool either. Something that costs under $50.

For heavier connections, welding cable is readily available and the wires can be separate, but the availability of two conductor cable between 2-4 and 16AWG seems very limited.

Last time I was at Home Depot, buying a box of romex (14-2 w/gnd), I saw they also had 10-2 wire, I don't remember if it was with or w/o ground. That would work for DC. But that was probably solid; you didn't specify solid or stranded.

Thanks! The cable at the link is exactly what I was looking for!

As for the HD wire, I'm looking for stranded since it would be moved around a bit.

Go to a local electrical wholesaler (the type electrical contractors typically go to) and ask for the appropriately sized SJ or SJO cable (stranded twisted pair, in a black rubber/pvc jacket). They'll sell it in whatever quantity you need. Be prepared for sticker shock, the price of copper has increased!

This is most likely late, but at Home depot if you look around the corner from the main electrical towards the Marine electrical you'll most likely find what you're looking for.

That's a great idea. Not too late. There's also a boating store nearby which might have appropriate cable.

I'll probably order from the store that was linked to, though.

Another potential source if you don't need exactly 50 ft.
