| Few questions before I upgrade to digital.
Few things I was interested in knowing before upgrading.
I understand that upgrading to digital I get one box and where that box is hooked up is where I get more channels, but will everything stay the same with my other tv's NOT hooked up?
My filter was disconnected by a comcast rep because it was damaged/rust and was told it would help my signal and I would get HBO for free. If I got the digital and the tech left the filter off would I get HBO in the rooms without the box? (please not negs from this, I havent done anything)
When purchasing this service and using the box that comes with it would I be able to buy a DVR and use it with it, or would I have to rent one from comcast?
Thanks for the help!! |

Yes, stay the same.

If you mean a Tivo or Replay, yes you can do that. If you mean buying a Motrola or Scientific Atlanta box of ebay - then no as they are stolen or "failure to return" units. You can only get them from you cable company. -- Certified Jenius! |

You'll get a message about subscribing because you are not authorized. |

| reply to renaldoaoa Thanks for the reply goober22!!!
Understood, got a few question.
Basically comcast is a DVR service like a Tivo only your not buying something for comcast.. only renting? Cost is for the service/equipment.
I was thinking that you could buy a dvr recorder and use it like a vcr (setup times you input to turn on automatic) and/or (clicking name save on menu, setup time each day/month format: tv guide channel type).
That sound like I'm on your page?
Thanks for the help!! |

| reply to renaldoaoa You can just order DVR service from Comcast for an extra 9.95/month which is to cover the DVR Service Fee. No upfront cost at all and if it goes bad you can get another one for free. You can record two shows at once while also playing back a recorded program again all at the sametime. Also the DVR you will get is also an HD DVR so if you have or plan to get an HDTV set all you must do is connect either an HDMI cable or a component cable and start watching HDTV. Both the HDMI and Component cables can be picked up at your local Comcast office and free to boot.
Also unless things get delayed you can add Tivo for another extra charge. It isn't available yet but it will be soon. As long as you have a Motorola DVR box provided by Comcast once Tivo is available you can order it and it will be downloaded and installed onto your box without you needing todo anything. Soon after the download Comcast will mail you a Tivo Peanut remote or you can pick it up at your local Comcast office. This is just stuff you might be interested in knowing and if you have anymore questions please ask and I will try and answer them. |
